How Are the Prices of the Keywords Determined?
Keyword prices are computed based on research done through
the Google Adwords program. Google Adwords provides suggested bid
prices to advertisers based on competition and other factors. We use
this amount to arrive at our
estimated prices.
The price listed for each keyword is the average cost per click that
the top bidder will pay. What an Adsense web publisher (or other contextual ad participant) receives will be a
percentage of this amount. Google does not make public the percentage of revenue
shared with publishers, but it is rumored to be around 50%. Other ad programs (such as Chitika) have a similar payout structure.
Please note that all prices are estimated. This is because all keyword prices change
based
on seasonal demand, new competition, etc. However, we have found that even
though prices fluctuate, general
trends prevail (i.e. high paying keywords tend to remain high paying
relative to other keywords). Also, we don't purport to
predict keyword prices with 100% accuracy, but merely present a guide
for people to choose keywords that have a higher earning potential compared to other keywords.
